Causes
Venous leg ulcers, also known as venous stasis ulcers, occur in approximately 2% of patients with varicose veins. They result from a cycle of inflammation and scarring that ultimately lead to skin breakdown and often months of wound care until unless the underlying cause is identified and treated.
